Large houses to rent in Sussex for group accommodation
Here at Exclusively Eastbourne, we pride ourselves on unearthing extraordinary holiday accommodation in the very best locations, including our large houses to rent in Sussex.
Wellington Quay is an outstanding waterfront holiday home, ideal for extended families and friends looking for luxury holiday cottages. This upmarket group accommodation in Sovereign Harbour has a private berth and jetty, and fabulous views across the marina. (Please let us know in advance if you wish to bring your boat!)
The holiday home is arguably the finest available in Sovereign Harbour (winning a Unique Holiday Cottages Group Getaway Award), and enjoys a south-facing position from which to enjoy the private terraces and gardens. Imagine soaking up rays on the private decks during the summer months, or watching the boats from the conservatory.
The cafes, restaurants and shops in Sovereign Harbour are an easy stroll away. Eastbourne is just an hour’s walk along the promenade or a quick 10 minute drive. There are many historical sites just a short trip away, including Pevensey and Bodium Castles. The village of Battle, hugely significant in English history, is around 20 minutes away (take a tour around the battlefield!).
Modern, comfortable and practical, the home provides six large bedrooms to sleep up to 12 for the ultimate social gatherings. There is also additional space for babies; please ask if you need the cot or high chair setting up.
In the lounge there are plenty of sofas and chairs around the TV, and French doors leading to the terrace. A large outdoor dining set means you can enjoy meals al fresco when the weather permits.
Luxury holiday cottages ideal for cycling holidays
A formal dining room seats up to eight, providing useful extra space to plan the adventures ahead or a separate ‘adults-only’ dining area. There is also a study on the ground floor, with a desk if you need to catch up on emails. With a comfy sofa and another TV/DVD player, it’s also a great hideout if you can’t agree what to watch.
All bedrooms are large (no one will feel short-changed) and provide good levels of storage, often built-in. Five of these are situated on the first floor (three with water views) and there is a twin bedroom on the ground floor with toilet opposite.
The principle bedroom has a super kingsize bed (or two twin beds if you prefer), marina views, plus an ensuite bathroom with bath and separate shower for space and flexibility.
The second bedroom can also be a super kingsize or twin room and has an ensuite shower room. Bedroom three provides a permanent kingsize, and there are a further two twin bedrooms on the first floor, plus a separate family bathroom, with bath and separate shower.
WiFi is provided, plus linen and regular towels (please bring your own beach towels). Additional linen is supplied for stays of more than a week, as with all our large houses to rent in Sussex. There is ample parking for up to four cars on the driveway. A double garage is also yours to use; great space for cars, bicycles or watersports equipment.
Well-behaved neutered / spayed adult dogs are also considered for the ground floor (supplement will apply). Please contact us to discuss if you need dog friendly accommodation in our large houses to rent in Sussex.
This large house also starred in ITV’s flagship current affairs programme Tonight, looking at whether 2020 is the year of the Great British Staycation 2020, also featuring our co-founder and Director Carl Stanger

Beautiful well equipped and relaxing home from home in a great location. Eastbourne is the sunniest place in England, and this lovely home is a great place to stay and enjoy all the area has to offer. Quiet cul de sac location. The house is very well appointed and well equipped, with plenty of space to comfortably accommodate 12 people. Large kitchen, large lounge, lovely conservatory and deck area overlooking the marina. All the bedrooms are well furnished and presented with plenty of storage. Information pack provided is full of all you need to know about Sovereign Harbour and also the wider area attractions. A few restaurants in the harbour area but only 1 supermarket. You need to go a little further afield to Eastbourne or Bexhill to get a better range. We thoroughly enjoyed our week there, and would not hesitate to recommend it, particularly for a multi generation family holiday as it has everything you need to satisfy all ages.
Stayed for a long weekend with friends to celebrate my 25th wedding anniversary. House was great location, was amazing looking straight out onto the harbour. Restaurants were in walking distance and shops, cinema every thing so near. We had lovely walks to the beach. I would go back again and stay in the same house, it had plenty of room with 6 bedrooms and a lovely conservatory which we used lot - can't wait to go back again!
Fabulous place to stay! This house is absolutely amazing; we stayed here to celebrate a family birthday and could not fault the house one bit. I am not too sure where to start but here are our highlights from our stay: • Kitchen – fantastic entertaining space to whip up a group meal, very well equipped and spacious so everyone can chip in! • All the bedrooms are good sizes with some amazing views • There is both a large sitting room with plenty of comfortable seating and a formal dining room • The conservatory is a good size straight off from the kitchen with great views over the harbour and if the sun is shining, you can then access the outside deck, which is a fantastic suntrap. The deck and conservatory overlook the private jetty and you can easily while away an afternoon watching the boats pass • Location is brilliant with access to the marina facilities including several restaurants and cafes. If you don’t fancy cooking we can recommend the Thai restaurant, amazing food and service • I have to mention the location again, if you fancy going for a walk there is plenty of stunning scenery to take in, either the local beach or a short drive you can visit the Seven Sisters, Beachy Head etc. – pack your walking shoes! We will certainly be back to this stunning place.
Fab get away but all the amenities of home.....and fantastic location. Lovely house, think it has 6 bedrooms but we only used 3 of them! The location is superb...right on the marina with its own boat dock. Although you are located right in the marina it is still quiet. The house is in a close so not lots of traffic or anything like that. Ample parking for at least 4 cars...probably more. I like to cook so was looking closely at the kitchen, it had everything I needed to make a nice dinner, and of course because it is design for a lot of people to stay there were plenty of crockery and utensils etc. Large kitchen table we used every day, and has a more formal dining room that we never bothered with that. We really enjoyed sitting on the deck just watching the activity in the Marina. Walking distance (10 mins max) to the restaurants in the Marina, and 10 mins walk to a supermarket (3 mins drive) so easy to stock up on food and groceries down here rather than cart it with you. used the house as a base to explore the area, which of course is famously near Hastings and everything from AD1066 ! kids enjoyed that side of our holiday...would definitely use the house again and probably for more people as it is huge.
Beautiful, spacious house with stunning harbour views. We stayed at Wellington Quay with a group friends and their families. There was plenty of space for us all to have our own rooms and bathrooms and the spacious kitchen and dining facilities made it easy to sit round the table and chat. The house is in a great location being an easy walk to restaurants and shops but away from any noise. We even went for a swim in the sea!
Great place to stay in a fantastic location. The house is fantastic - very comfortable with plenty of space for all 12 of us! The garden being directly on the harbour is fantastic - a very relaxing place to sit. We spent most of the time in the conservatory which overlooks the garden and harbour. Plenty of good food nearby, and plenty of places to walk and see the boats. All staff from Exclusively Eastbourne were very helpful and friendly. Overall we all had a great time and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it!
Stunning property. Wow! What a place. An amazing setting, a short walk from a retail park and some restaurants but tucked away and quiet. Plenty of space to sit round the table for 10 of us and rooms very flexible with some being able to be made up as twins or doubles. We will definitely be back... to enjoy the outside more in a warmer time of year.
Perfect holiday rental. This house certainly has the wow factor, would definitely rebook and recommend it to friends, the view over the harbour was stunning. A great place to unwind, enjoy the views and all the home comforts. The house was spotless and Exclusively Eastbourne were so friendly and accommodating and I would book with them if I was returning to this area. Restaurants were within easy walking distance as well as shops and a cinema. The house was spacious and well equipped, we book a family get together every year and I’d say this was one of the best houses we have booked, great value for money for the house and location.
A piece of tranquillity. What a hidden gem! We all had a fantastic time, tucked right out of the way, with the most stunning views of the harbour as the boats went sailing past. So much room for 9 of us, our girls thought it was like being in a princess castle! Perfectly placed to explore all of East Sussex and indeed the whole of the south coast - Our family and friends that joined us would highly recommend booking up for a luxurious, relaxing break.
Beautiful property in relaxing location. Spent a long weekend with my family for my Nans 90th birthday. The house and location are suitable for all ages across 4 generations! The house is very well equipped and was immaculately cleaned.
Excellent Eastbourne Excursion. Wonderful accommodation. A beautiful, modern, spacious property with a fully equipped kitchen. Ideal for families. Located on the marina but not far from beaches, promenade and town centre. Restaurants and supermarket located within walking distance at the marina. We had a wonderful week watching the Red Arrows from the beach, boating at Cuckmere Haven and enjoying an open top Bus ride. We'll definitely return to Eastbourne again!
Excellent Family Break. The property was first class with lots of internal space for a party of 12 and ample parking. The furnishing, facilities and fittings were all to a high standard. The property is situated in a pleasant area with an excellent view over the moorings and the marina from the rear conservatory. The booking arrangements and subsequent communications all went very smoothly. With the weather being variable the accommodation was eminently suitable for the large family gathering.
This house was fantastic for our family holiday. It was perfectly and fully equipped. It was right next to the marina, and great to sit on the garden bench overlooking the marina. We loved it and would definitely recommend a holiday here.
A great property for our family to use The weather was awful all weekend but as we sat in the conservatory we felt we were still able to enjoy the views. The house was spotless and had everything we needed.
Brilliant accommodation for a large group, great views and amenities within walking distance. This house had all you need for a large group of differing ages. Spacious rooms, great dining facilities and plenty of bathrooms. We also loved that you could easily walk around the harbour and to the restaurants, shops and beach. Nice personal touch meeting us on arrival. Thoroughly recommend it!
We have been going away over Easter weekend with extended family for the last few years. This year there were 12 of us and I have to say that the house was by far, the best one we've had yet! The rooms throughout were spacious and finished to a high spec. Plenty of space for everyone. Sitting outside and looking out onto the harbour was lovely and relaxing. Restaurants at the Marina were only a short walk away. We walked to the beach everyday and from there walked to Eastbourne Pier. A great house in a perfect location!
Fantastic house for two families, great location and facilities. We are two families who have been going on holiday together for over 15 years - this house was voted the best we have ever stayed in. The location may not be in the town centre, but we all enjoyed the walk along the beach into Eastbourne. Waking up to the amazing view of the harbour was a delight. Having a house with so much room was perfect as the kids are now all teenagers and older! Kitchen was well equipped and the quality of the showers (when all three were running at the same time) was great. We had a perfect week of weather and visited Battle, Brighton and Eastbourne.
Great house for all family ages This is a fabulous house in a great location. The large kitchen diner was used by us all for lunch and the odd dinner. The spacious conservatory was used all times of day,and gave a great view of the marina below and the goings on.The huge decked area was used for breakfast, for sunbathing or having a pre dinner drink. The lower garden and jetty filled many hours of boat watching and crab fishing. The house itself was perfect for the family group that we travelled with. The downstairs twin room was used by my mother in law,the upstairs superking by my parents, the kingsize by my teenage daughter and the other two twins by my teenage boys. The flexibility of having a study and lounge meant that a film could watched in one room, whilst t.v was watched in the other, without disturbing the book readers!! The proximity to the supermarket was great and we all made use of being able to walk to the coffee shop and mant restaurants based at the marina,as well as the landtrain int Eastbourne. An all round great house.
Wonderful house for a family get together. We booked this property for 3 generations of our family to come together and it was fantastic. A couple of minor issues were resolved by Carl very speedily. The weather was superb and all in all a superior holiday was had by everyone.
Excellent Accommodation. It is not easy to find a suitable property to accommodate a (3 generation) family of 12 but this property fulfilled all our needs and by far outclasssed all previous holiday properties. A beautiful location and excellently equipped - the owners seem to have thought of everything. Having 2 fridge/freezers was very much appreciated - a facility we have not previously experienced. The property afforded spacious accommodation and was excellently maintained. I would have not hesitation in highly recommending it.
Relaxing and comfortable. Perfect venue to gather family spread across the uk.
A great house in a great location
This house is v clean, the location is quiet and v relaxing having views of marina from the house. Restaurants are walking distance and supermarket Asda only a few mins drive away. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here, there was plenty room for 2 large families and our dog.
A fantastic house worth every penny. Great stay and amazing Christmas for the whole family. We had a magical Christmas in this truly remarkable house. The house offered so much more then we ever could imagine. It allowed so much space for the whole family and catered for everyone from the age of 4 up to 64. The house was beautifully decorated for Christmas and the harbour Christmas lights were an amazing bonus and surprise. The adults and children never got bored waiting for the daily switch on every evening! Sitting back and relaxing in the delightful conservatory in a very tranquil setting. Such an amazing holiday house rental, definitely the best we've ever had the pleasure to stay in! A big thank you to everyone at Exclusively Eastbourne for making our Christmas 2019 forever memories
Amazing stay in this fabulous house with its stunning location. We booked this lovely house for a family 70th birthday weekend and it worked out perfect. The house is well equipped, clean, warm and comfortable. The roooms are a really good size and there is plenty of space for the family to spread out and relax. Plenty of off road parking plus the double garage is available should you need it. The rear of the house is south facing and looks across the harbour which is stunning. We all loved sitting and relaxing in the conservatory looking out at the boats whilst enjoying a drink. The harbour restaurant's are just a short 10 minute walk away with plenty of choice. The beach is also close by which is ideal for lovely walks with views of Beachy Head, Pevensey Bay and Hastings. Carl and the team at Exclusively Eastbourne were extremely helpful and efficient and helped us make this a perfect birthday weekend. Highly recommend this property.
