Tucked away on Wish Hill in the historic village of Willingdon, Wish House Cottage is a charming two-bedroom country-style retreat offering the perfect blend of traditional character, comfort and countryside living.

With two attractively appointed bedrooms, both with their own ensuite bathrooms, a private garden and some of the most beautiful countryside walks in the area right on your doorstep, this is an idyllic base for a relaxing Sussex escape.

And while you may feel wonderfully away from it all, the beaches, attractions and restaurants of Eastbourne are just a short drive away.

Step inside Wish House Cottage and you’ll immediately find yourself somewhere that feels relaxed, homely and distinctly English.

The cottage combines traditional country styling with all the comforts you would expect from a modern holiday home.

The characterful interiors, soft furnishings and warm natural tones create a wonderfully peaceful atmosphere — the sort of place where you can settle in, put your feet up and forget about the outside world for a while.

Large windows bring in plenty of natural light, while the cottage’s elevated position on Wish Hill gives it a lovely connection with the surrounding village and countryside.

The diner-lounge has two sofas in front of the Smart TV, plus a dining table and a handy writing bureau in the ample space, making this a perfect property for working from home.

The country-style kitchen featuring exposed brickwork, also has a more relaxed table plus all the equipment you’ll need for self-catering such as oven, hob, fridge freezer, dishwasher, kettle, toaster and coffee machine.

A washing machine and dryer are available in a utility area.

Discover Willingdon

Willingdon is a historic Sussex village nestled between the South Downs and the coast.

With its village character, traditional buildings and easy access to the surrounding countryside, it offers a very different experience from staying in the centre of Eastbourne.

It’s an ideal base for exploring the South Downs, Beachy Head, Seven Sisters and the Sussex coastline while still being close enough to enjoy everything Eastbourne has to offer.

The cottage features steep stairs (with a hard floor at the bottom) and also an open garage space en route to the garden, so the property is only open to children aged 8 and up.

This Willingdon holiday cottage comes with an allocated allocated parking space, WiFi, crisp white linen and fresh, fluffy towels, with a second set provided for stays of two weeks or more.

This property does not accept pets. Smoking is not permitted in the property or grounds.

Costs include the weekly rent, a £30 booking fee and a returnable £200 security deposit. To book requires an immediate, non-refundable deposit of £200 per week booked (booking fee and a portion of the rent) and then the balance, including the security deposit, is due by no later than six weeks before your arrival. For stays of three weeks or more, you may be asked to pay a higher security deposit and/or booking deposit.

The checkout time is 10am on the day of departure – a fine may be applied if you do not leave on time. Please leave the property in good order – dispose of rubbish in external bins and wash up any pots/dishes before you leave. If the accommodation is left in an unreasonable state, requiring deep cleaning, the cost for this will be deducted from your security deposit.

The security deposit will be returned to you within 1-2 weeks of your departure, minus any deduction for damage, loss or excessive cleaning required.
