Chic and cheap bolthole in Eastbourne? Now that’s my type of holiday accommodation!

Lounge diner in the holiday propertyI’m lucky enough to visit many a lovely property as I assess potential holiday homes for Exclusively Eastbourne – country charm, seafront pad, period property, family home and too many more I want to forget and have to politely decline.

Thorn Lodge made me smile from the moment I pulled up outside. And that was before I discovered the high ceilings, grand Victorian fireplace and a rather swanky finish.

It might have something to do with the architect-owner, with a killer eye for detail, who has created this cute contemporary bolthole after a complete renovation – everything is brand new!

Holiday flat close to Eastbourne College and theatresPerfectly located, just a minute’s stroll to Eastbourne’s Little Chelsea, town centre and Devonshire Park Tennis (as well as just 5 minutes to the seafront), the two bedroom apartment (one of which has bunk beds) provides the perfect holiday escape for a family or group of friends on a theatre break or with more intrepid plans to hike the Seven Sisters.

The open-plan kitchen-diner-lounge and family bathroom are suitably stylish, but utterly practical so all you need to think about whether to bring your swimming costume, tennis racket or hiking boots. I suggest all three.

Best of all, you have the choice of it’s free calendar – since it’s brand new to the market so take your pick and start planning.

Weeks start from only £395 and you might just bag a short break in the early months, before word gets out about this gem and the bookings flood in.
