Stunning views over the sea and square

You may be thinking of a St Leonards‘ or Hastings’ Airbnb for an escape to the coast and a chance to hit the beach and sample the salty sea air?

Let me introduce you to St Leonards Lookout to help the dream become a reality, with its captivating views out across the sea, towards Eastbourne and Beachy Head in the distance.

This one-bedroom seaview apartment is perfect for couples, set just off the seafront on the glorious Warrior Square with its handsome Regency buildings.

The beachfront and promenade are an obvious draw, but you’re within touching distance of the buzzing, creative enclave, with destinations including Heist, an indoor street market, the Goat Ledge, plus an independent cinema and oyster bar. We definitely don’t have an oyster bar in Eastbourne.

As well as being seconds from the seafront, it’s a very short amble from St Leonards Warrior Square train station (maybe five minutes if you’re tugging a suitcase) and there is stacks to see and do locally, so a car is far from essential. If you do come in a car, there is free parking locally, in parts of Warrior Square and some surrounding streets.

Regular trains get you direct to Gatwick Airport, Brighton, Eastbourne, Lewes, London Bridge, London Victoria and Ashford International, so the links are very convenient for this St Leonards and Hastings Airbnb.

As well as pottering around the gardens of Warrior Square, there is so much to see and do in St Leonards and Hastings (the two essentially merge together as you wander along the prom). It remains stacked with old school charm, but is now one of the hippest resorts in the UK and has become an artists’ haven, with painters and sculptors heading to the coast for the amazing spaces and incredible light.

Packed with historical sites and features and fine art – don’t miss Hastings Castle and the Jerwood Gallery in Hastings and, of course, the iconic and award-winning Victorian pier.

Smugglers Adventure, a museum with atmospheric caverns, will reveal more of the local smuggling history and check out Teddy Tinkers, a vintage cave of treasures.  And don’t think about leaving town without some fish and chips, followed by an ice cream. Ooh, lovely!

One to definitely Lookout for! If you're looking to have a proper seaside experience in St Leonards, then you would struggle to beat The Lookout. For someone travelling by themselves or a couple wanting to be literally overlooking the beach and yet still be minutes from town, shops and the station, it's fantastic. A highly recommended great holiday flat! (The lettings management are brilliant too - prompt, alert to any questions and a pleasure to deal with.) Left on Sep 26, 2023 for a stay in Aug 2023
