Skip to the Beach holiday home!
Family friendly holiday accommodation needs to offer space. For everyone, especially if you need to hide from the little ones occasionally (can I admit to that as a father?!). And easy access to a beach, plus a private garden, preferably with a gate so you head home with the same number of children as you arrived with. I might be getting choosy now, but how about lots of natural light, and some outside dining space and maybe even a BBQ?
Skip to the Beach ticks a LOT of boxes if you are looking for a traditional family holiday, close to the beach and with seagulls in the salty air. Just add multicoloured wind-breaks, sandy sandwiches and knobbly knees for a staycation to remember.
This spacious holiday home is ideal for families or friends seeking a refreshing break in a timeless location. Pevensey Bay enjoys what feels like an endless beach, and despite being only a short drive from both Eastbourne and Bexhill (you’re practically in the middle of the two towns), you feel a million miles away from busy, urban lives.
You can enjoy the handsome detached house as you drive in to the off road parking. It has been extended at the back to create a relaxing dining area and additional lounge – from which you can take in the substantial private garden. Take drinks on the patio, fire up the BBQ and chill out on one of the two outdoor dining sets. Well, you’re on holiday!
The kitchen has an island with stools and is well equipped, with oven, fridge-freezer, microwave, hob, toaster and dishwasher. The washing machine and an extra fridge can be found in the utility area just off the kitchen.
The downstairs living area has been opened up to offer two sections with lots of comfortable seating and a TV complete with Sky Q box, which has access to internet based viewing options (don’t forget your Netflix log in). There is also a DVD player if you want to bring along your favourite films and if you can’t agree what to watch, there is a second TV in the dining conservatory.
There is a downstairs shower room with toilet.
Highly recommended. This is a lovely place. Communication before check in was good, we had all the information we needed and getting in late in the evening was no problem due to the key safe entry. On arrival everything was very clean and tidy. The house is great, crisp linens on the beds, a couple of TVs, nice conservatory / dining area separate from the lounge and a super garden with a brick BBQ, which is a nice haven for humans and canines alike. Very quick walk to the beach (pebbles unless the tide is out), 200 yards at most I would say; and only a 5 minute walk to the local town of Pevensey Bay with a couple of pubs, 2 nice cafes & a good Indian restaurant as well as convenience store, fish and chippy, kebab shop and Chinese takeaway... Sovereign Harbour is about five minutes drive and has an Asda and a big Boots, plus a few other big retail stores. For food and drink there's a Harvester, Thai, Italian, Indian and Mediterranean restaurants and a couple of bars as well as a decent selection of 'super' yachts to take a look at. Eastbourne, with more facilities, supermarkets, restaurants and entertainment is 10-15 minute drive away depending on where you are heading. Further afield, we really loved driving to Seaford Head and looking at the great view of Seven Sisters; then on to Birling Gap with the option of walking towards Beachy Head or over the Seven Sisters themselves. Everything is beautiful in the National Park. Give it a try.Trevor Castledine null
