Towner Eastbourne is hosting the Turner Prize 2023, the world’s leading prize for contemporary art, as the centrepiece of the centenary celebrations.

Towner gallery Eastbourne

World class gallery

With over 5,000 artworks, Towner Eastbourne is home to one of the most significant public art collections of modern and contemporary art in the South of England. In fact, this world-class gallery is so well regarded, that it was awarded as the Art Fund’s Museum of the Year in 2020.

Building on that success and helping to celebrate the centenary of this popular gallery, The Towner will, for the first time ever, play host to the Turner exhibition.

This prestigious, and sometime controversial award (think Tracy Emin‘s “bed”) is awarded once a year to a British artist for an outstanding exhibition or work from the preceding year.

From 28 September 2023 to 14 April 2024

And with free admission!
