Spring has most certainly sprung so now is the time to think about things to do in Eastbourne in April.

promenade ice creamSure, Eastbourne has a wonderful beach, Beachy Head and the South Downs National Park and a wealth of cultural attractions all year long, but now is a particularly great time to visit this hidden gem.

If you have children you have every excuse to gambol with the new born lambs at the Seven Sisters Sheep Centre between East Dean and Birling Gap (less than 10 minutes drive from Eastbourne) – bottle feeding takes place at 11.30 and 3.30 everyday throughout this month and I suggest you also enjoy the tractor rides and pick up some goodies at their shop to feed some of the other animals.

If you’re quick you can still catch Heartbeat at Devonshire Park Theatre, ITV’s popular Sunday evening police drama, starring members of the TV cast. There’s clever use of scenery to help re-create the atmosphere of a 1960’s Yorkshire rural setting. The play runs until April 9th.

Also running until April 9th is Thriller Live at the Congress Theatre, celebrating the career of one of the world’s greatest entertainers – direct from London’s West End where it is now in its record breaking 7th year.

chicagoAnother international blockbuster Chicago follows at the Congress, running from 11 -16 April – featuring a nightclub singer, a double-murderess, a smooth-talking lawyer and a cell block of sin – you won’t be able to take your eyes away!

Many of the families staying at our holiday homes will make it to Drusillas Park, widely regarded as one of the best small zoos in the country. It’s a great place to get up close to animals, but also enjoy the Thomas the Tank Engine steam railway ride, perhaps meet Hello Kitty or hit the maze.

Discover what Eastbourne was like 3000 years ago with the Bronze Age Mystery exhibition at The Pavillion, overlooking the sea just east of the pier, revealing previously untold stories and proving that Eastbourne has proven popular across very different ages!

How about joining Eastbourne in celebrating the Queen’s 90th birthday with the Beacon and Lighting Party, with music, a torch-lit procession and fireworks on April 21st.

Magnificent Motors rolls into town on April 30th and provides a focal point for the family on the Bank Holiday weekend with 600 classic cars based on the Lawns (in front of The Grand Hotel) on the west end of the promenade.

So there is every reason to head down to Eastbourne this month – why not check out our availability or give us a call on 01323 40 60 90 for more ideas on things to do in Eastbourne?
