Fully refurbished throughout and tastefully furnished, St Mary’s Cottage provides a comfortable base for a family or friends for a relaxing coastal escape in a tranquil location.

This period property is set in atmospheric Old Town Eastbourne, with fine views of the exquisite 12th-century St Mary’s church. It is just a short walk from delightful Gildredge Park, Waitrose, the historic Lamb Inn and Eastbourne town centre.

Natural light cascades throughout the whole ground floor to provide a calming atmosphere.  Enhanced by flame-effect fires in both reception rooms and with gas central heating throughout, this is an excellent year-round base.

The cottage is deceptively spacious, with open-plan sitting and dining areas that can be divided if families need quiet space. The inviting sitting room has a sofa and two armchairs, plus a smart TV with access to online entertainment.  The stylish dining table seats up to six and a door from the dining area leads to the modern kitchen.

The kitchen is stylish yet practical, with a cooker, fridge-freezer, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine.  There are also all the utensils you need for self catering holidays.

The cottage sleeps up to four comfortably, with the master offering a kingsize bed and the second bedroom a twin.   The master bedroom has a second smart TV if you want to watch your favourite show in bed. The spotless bathroom has a walk-in shower and a separate bath for the choice of an invigorating blast or an indulgent soak.

A wonderful place to stay. The house was very clean, everything was exactly as described in the advert. The surroundings are really beautiful, everything, like the city centre, the beach, the park and shops, is within easy walking distance. We really enjoyed our stay. Arrival date: Sat, 20 Jul

The Small Print

There is a week-long minimum stay and bookings run from Saturday to Saturday in peak season, although flexible arrival days and short breaks may be possible out of season.

Costs include the weekly rent, a £30 booking fee and a returnable £200 security deposit. To book requires an immediate, non-refundable deposit of £200 per week booked (booking fee and a portion of the rent) and then the balance, including the security deposit, is due by no later than six weeks before your arrival. For stays of three weeks or more, you may be asked to pay a higher security deposit. The security deposit will be returned to you within 1-2 weeks of your departure, minus any deduction for damage, loss or excessive cleaning required.
