Holiday cottages south coast ideal for walking and cycling holidays
If you are searching for characterful yet immaculately-presented holiday cottages south coast, then this elegant Victorian terrace could be ideal.
Fully refurbished throughout and tastefully furnished, St Mary’s Cottage provides a comfortable base for a family or friends for a relaxing coastal escape in a tranquil location.
This period property is set in atmospheric Old Town Eastbourne, with fine views of the exquisite 12th-century St Mary’s church. It is just a short walk from delightful Gildredge Park, Waitrose, the historic Lamb Inn and Eastbourne town centre.
Natural light cascades throughout the whole ground floor to provide a calming atmosphere. Enhanced by flame-effect fires in both reception rooms and with gas central heating throughout, this is an excellent year-round base.
The cottage is deceptively spacious, with open-plan sitting and dining areas that can be divided if families need quiet space. The inviting sitting room has a sofa and two armchairs, plus a smart TV with access to online entertainment. The stylish dining table seats up to six and a door from the dining area leads to the modern kitchen.
The kitchen is stylish yet practical, with a cooker, fridge-freezer, microwave, dishwasher and washer-dryer. There are also all the utensils you need for self catering holidays.
The cottage sleeps up to four comfortably, with the master offering a kingsize bed and the second bedroom a twin. The master bedroom has a second smart TV if you want to watch your favourite show in bed. The spotless bathroom has a walk-in shower and a separate bath for the choice of an invigorating blast or an indulgent soak.
Contact was great from Carl and Sarah. The property is a spacious 2 bedroom house in the middle of a row of 5 similar houses with a small patio which is a great sunspot in the afternoon. Never had issues with noise from the neighbours and chatted to the lady at no.2 who was lovely. Property is as described and photo's are accurate apart from 2nd bedroom which was bigger than expected. The property is a 20min walk to the train station and a further 10mins to the seafront, however buses run past every 10mins, bus stop is just a minute away outside Waitrose. We visited numerous towns along the coast and Eastbourne was our favourite by far. St. Mary's is a fantastic property and we would happily stay their again.Marc Cornell null
