Would definitely recommend the house for family gatherings - bags of space, garden and obviously the pool.....Professional booking service
The Spinney is a beautiful house. The photographs that we viewed really don't do it justice! It is situated in a quiet area and has the feel of a family home, with plenty of room for everyone to spread out and find a quiet place if they want. The swimming pool was an added bonus. It doesn't really have what I would describe as a shallow end so it may not be suitable for very young children, but our grandchildren, aged 5 to 8, were quite happy with it. There is lots to do in the surrounding area to suit all ages. We visited Drusilla's Zoo with the grandchildren, walked to the Seven Sisters, visited Eastbourne amongst other things and enjoyed them all.
Nice house and very comfortable. We was blessed with amazing weather so the pool was a godsend :) Property owner was very nice and helpful. East Dean is a lovely little village with a good pub, The Tiger Inn, which serves good beer and good food for a reasonable price. Would highly recommend this property. We will be back.
“Beautiful house in beautiful setting” We had a fabulous week at The Spinney. The house and grounds are stunning. The beds and bed linen luxurious. The pool warm and inviting. The BBQ a triumph. Spacious and comfy rooms. Splendid dining room. Close to many great towns, villages, walks, beaches and pubs. All three generations of our family group would recommend a stay at the Spinney.
“Fabulous family home with beautiful gardens” We stayed at the end March/beginning April 2013. Travelled with a 6 month old baby and two older children. Booking was easy, provision of cot and high chair very helpful. The house was large, decorated nicely and comfortably, but not so posh that we spent our whole time worrying about the children making a dirty mark! The gardens are lovely and huge and perfect for the children playing out. The pool was not in use as it was too cold/early in the year, but I'd imagine it would be fantastic when it was available. Kitchen had lots of utensils and crockery.
Great house for our family. Would definitely recommend the house for family gatherings - bags of space, garden and obviously the pool (not huge but great fun with the children). Professional booking service through Sarah - very helpful answering questions.
What a Garden! My family rented "The Spinney" for a week during the summer holidays. 5 Adults and 4 Children aged between 9 and 15. We arrived slightly earlier than the 3pm arrival time and the owners were still cleaning the property, but were more than accommodating allowing us to store our luggage and use the freezers. The house is wonderful, very spacious yet also cosy and comfortable, lovely in the summer and I imagine really nice in the winter months with open fireplaces in a couple of rooms. As we were fortunate with the weather the garden (which is huge) was a great place for our children to play ball games and generally just have fun in, we even purchased a kite to use in it...it really is that big !! The pool is small, but very nice, our only slight issue was that it was freezing despite being "heated" and the weather being above the 20's most days, it was refreshing after an hour's sunbathing, but not as warm as we had hoped. The local area of East Dean is lovely, The Tiger Pub and little green area in the village is quaint and the coffee shop does great sandwiches/toasties. Being just a 10 minute drive into Eastbourne and Beachy Head also adds to the "things to do" list during your stay. All in all a great weeks holiday.
Fantastic break. What a lovely family home that holds on to many memories...and so glad to add ours to it. Met up with family who live in Seaford . we all shared the pool the kids made good use of that and appreciated it then we all dined together every evening . it brought our family together as there is great distance between us we don't get to visit that often but now we have found this loving home we will definitely be returning next year ..
Lovely house with lots of character. The house is beautiful and full of charm and lots of lovely features inside. The gardens are like a small park,my five grandchildren had amazing time playing football and running around. Really great that we could take our little rescue dog as he doesn't like kennels. We loved East Dean with local coffee shops and park and had lovely meals at the Tiger Inn and Beachy Head hotel. Amazing walks around the area very such beautiful surroundings. Walked to Birling Gap . We booked this holiday to make memories for our family due to my husband being diagnose with Alzheimers a couple of year ago and we wanted to spend time together as a family. I would love to stay again next year if it's possible
A beautiful week in a beautiful part of the world!. We had a wonderful week at The Spinney. The Sunshine Coast lived up to its reputation and with beautiful weather all week, we made full use of the pool. Our boys enjoyed riding their bikes around the extensive gardens which were like our own park! And they found good mountain bike trails at nearby Friston Forest. We love the South Downs and The Spinney couldn't have been in a better location for my favourite walks being near to Beachy Head and The Seven Sisters Country Park. The house was comfortable and provided a superb base for a beautiful week in this stunning part of the country. We would definitely recommend it!
A perfect family holiday home. An ideal base to discover Eastbourne and the South Downs. The house was well equipped and homely. It was spacious enough to accommodate four adults and three older children. The gardens and the swimming pool provided lots of fun and enjoyment. The base was perfect to explore the area and was well supported by local bus routes including the Eastbourne open top sight seeing bus which stopped in the village..
