St John’s Place is ideal for those looking for holiday apartments in Meads village or as South Downs Way accommodation for walkers.  This one bedroom holiday let is on the lower ground floor of a handsome, semi-detached, period residence in the sought-after, upmarket Meads village area of Eastbourne.

Located on a wide leafy street which leads directly to the seafront (you can see the sea from the front gate), it is ideal for those visiting St Bede’s, St Andrew’s & Moira House Schools.

As the building is set on a hill, there are views over Eastbourne from the big bay windows in the lounge, which has comfy sofas, a big flatscreen TV and a small dining table and chairs.

The double bedroom has windows overlooking the front garden, painted white floorboards and a rustic French boudoir feel. For an additional child, one of the sofas in the lounge is a sofabed so this holiday apartment is ideal for couples and small families.

There is a compact kitchen with fridge-freezer, oven/hob and washing machine – plus plenty of pots, pans and utensils. The bathroom has a corner bath with shower over and there’s a separate toilet.

Holiday apartments in Meads village with easy access to Eastbourne

Meads High Street is an easy 10 minute walk away, with its independent shops, pub and cafes, whilst Eastbourne Pier in Eastbourne is only a 15-minute stroll away. The theatres, cafes, shops and restaurants of the town centre are also just 10 minutes walk away, you’ll struggle to find a better placed holiday apartment in Meads.

Beachy Head, the Seven Sister and South Downs National Park, with clifftop walks, fossil-hunting and kite-flying opportunities aplenty are less than a mile away and a must-visit for all fresh-air enthusiasts. You could easily take a look at the delightful villages of East Dean and Friston, and Jevington and Folkington just inland.

All linen and towels are provided, with additional linen supplied for stays or more than a week. Free WiFi is available and parking is free and on-street immediately outside.

The flat is in a wonderful location to access restaurants, beach, and shops. Great walking location for hiking the East Downs. Public transportation is very good and the Eastbourne Tourist Office is very helpful. The flat is large and well stocked with kitchen plates, pans, and cutlery. Also, the flat is along a quiet street so little traffic noise. The flat is comfortable and the property management company was responsive to our requests. It was a good stay for us.

There is a week-long minimum stay and bookings run from Saturday to Saturday in peak season, although flexible arrival days may be possible out of season.

Costs include the weekly rent, a £30 booking fee and a returnable £200 security deposit. If you wish to use the sofabed (maximum three guests across the apartment), there is a supplement of £50 per week. To book requires an immediate, non-refundable deposit of £200 per week booked (booking fee and a portion of the rent) and then the balance, including the security deposit, is due by no later than six weeks before your arrival. For stays of three weeks or more, you may be asked to pay a higher security deposit and/or booking deposit.

The checkout time is 10am on the day of departure – a fine may be applied if you do not leave on time. Please leave the property in good order – dispose of rubbish in external bins and wash up any pots/dishes. If the accommodation is left in an unreasonable state, requiring deep cleaning, the cost for this will be deducted from your security deposit.

The security deposit will be returned to you within 1-2 weeks of your departure, minus any deduction for damage, loss or excessive cleaning required.

The property can only be used for the maximum number shown on the booking correspondence. It must not be used for improper, illegal or immoral purposes. Guests must not sub-let the property and must not change, add, move or remove any items of furniture, furnishings or structures inside or outside. Guests must not cause (nor allow any visitors to cause) any nuisance, annoyance or disturbance to neighbours, the property owner or the property owner’s agent.
