Grade II-listed cottage in idyllic village setting
Atmosphere, character and a location to access the extraordinary South Downs National Park are the key ingredients for a South Downs holiday cottage.
Originally built in the 1750s and retaining many original features, including old oak beams, solid wood front door and fireplaces, this holiday cottage has been lovingly restored and refurbished to modern standards, to offer warmth and charm.
Enjoy invigorating hikes along the chalk hillsides, take in sea views, stroll in the woods or cycle along village lanes. Or simply hunker down by the fire and occasionally head out to the village pubs or the fabulous Thai restaurant, making this a wonderful year-round base.
There are two double bedrooms that offer good accommodation for up to four people.
Downstairs, the living room is cosy, with oak beams and a living flame gas stove set in the original fireplace. There are two armchairs and a two-seater sofa where you can settle down to watch the smart TV or pick up one of the books on offer.
The kitchen/diner leading from the living room has plenty of space to sit around the table and enjoy a meal prepared in the fully-equipped kitchen, which includes a fridge-freezer, electric cooker, microwave and a Bosch Tassimo coffee machine.
Both bedrooms are upstairs as is the shower room.
The master bedroom has a double bed, a built-in cupboard with hanging and shelf space, a dressing table with stool and mirror, bedside cabinets with lamps and a large storage unit with more hanging space, shelves and drawers. The original fireplace here is a delightful decorative feature and the beautiful oak beams are thought to originate from a shipwreck.
The smaller second bedroom also has a double bed with bedside drawers and lamps. We recommend that guests share the storage room in the master bedroom.
A washing machine and garden furniture are stored for your use in an adjacent out-building.

Drusillas, widely regarding as the best small zoo in the country, also makes for a fab family day out and is only around 10 minutes away in the car.
For history take in Pevensey Bay just a few miles away, where William the Conqueror and the Normans landed to change the course of English history in 1066, and castles galore, including Bodiam which is within a 30-minute drive.
You would struggle to find a better location for walkers, cyclists and holidaymakers seeking a relaxed location in a South Downs holiday cottage.
