Silverdale Retreat is a good value holiday apartment East Sussex for families or friends wanting to be in the Lower Meads area of Eastbourne – with easy access to Eastbourne theatres, Devonshire Park tennis, Holywell Bay and the English language and independent schools of Eastbourne.
Set in a striking Victorian villa on a popular residential road, this lower ground floor apartment is homely and simply furnished, with its own private entrance giving you complete independence.
There are two bedrooms – both have zip and link beds so can be set up as either doubles or twins so this is flexible accommodation for families ans friends. The larger bedroom has an ensuite shower room and there’s a separate family bathroom with bath and shower over – so no queues for the shower!
The relaxing lounge has a pleasant view over the communal garden, and there’s a TV and DVD for those cosy evenings in. There is also a sofabed, so this flat can accommodate more than four people (supplement may apply).

There is a modern dining kitchen which includes a dishwasher, washer-dryer, fridge-freezer, oven, hob, kettle, toaster and the usual utensils and crockery required for a self catering holiday or short let in Eastbourne.
The apartment has central heating if evenings turn chilly (that you fully control) and there is unlimited hot water. All towels and linen are provided, along with enough tea, coffee, sugar and milk for welcome drinks. Parking on street is free of charge.
Being close to Meads, you can enjoy the independent shops and cafes in the leafy village or head into the town centre (only about 10 minutes walk away).
Eastbourne train station, with direct links to London Victoria, London Bridge, Gatwick Airport and Brighton, is also less than 15 minutes walk away making this holiday apartment East Sussex a great option for those who won’t be bringing a car.

Firstly, the landlords Exclusive Eastbourne delivers a great service. They are attentive and service minded. We had a few issues with the apartment during our 6 weeks stay but they fixed them quickly and even when we were out. The location is perfect. It is surprisingly quiet. Close to Eastbourne college, shopping, the beach and the downs. On street parking is easy even during the week of Eastbourne tennis tournament.
This property does not accept pets. Smoking is not permitted.
There is a week-long minimum stay and bookings run from Friday to Friday in peak season, although flexible arrival days may be possible out of season.
Costs include the weekly rent, a £30 booking fee and a returnable £200 security deposit. To book requires an immediate, non-refundable deposit of £200 (booking fee and a portion of the rent) and then the balance, including the security deposit, is due by no later than six weeks before your arrival. For stays of three weeks or more, you may be asked to pay a higher security deposit and/or booking deposit.
The checkout time is 10am on the day of departure – a fine may be applied if you do not leave on time. Please leave the property in good order – dispose of rubbish in external bins and wash up any pots/dishes or place in the dishwasher and switch on before you leave. If the accommodation is left in an unreasonable state, requiring deep cleaning, the cost for this will be deducted from your security deposit.
The security deposit will be returned to you within 1-2 weeks of your departure, minus any deduction for damage, loss or excessive cleaning required.
The property can only be used for the maximum number shown on the booking correspondence. It must not be used for improper, illegal or immoral purposes. Guests must not sub-let the property and must not change, add, move or remove any items of furniture, furnishings or structures inside or outside. Guests must not cause (nor allow any visitors to cause) any nuisance, annoyance or disturbance to neighbours, the property owner or the property owner’s agent.
