A 20 minute stroll across the top and you will soon reach the famous cliffs of Beachy Head.
Meads is the most sought-after location in Eastbourne for both residents and holiday makers alike. The charming village offers a selection of nice restaurants and cafes, plus independent shops and boutiques. ‘The Ship’ and ‘The Pilot Inn’ are also arguably two of Eastbourne’s leading pubs, both offering great British food and a sophisticated atmosphere.
Whether you are new to Eastbourne or have visited before, a stay in Meads Cottage will open your eyes to the best that Eastbourne has to offer. An ice cream on the promenade, a coffee on the hills, and fluffy Yorkshire puddings in the Pilot, these are just a few things that await you in this great British location.
Within the property, the lower level benefits from two reception rooms, a spacious kitchen, and upstairs there are three bedrooms and a family bathroom. The property has a parking space for one car, gas central heating, a garden and free WiFi.
Coastal cottage getaway, fantastic for friends and family
The kitchen has been newly renovated but is in keeping with the traditional cottage features. It has all the cooking utensils you will need and comes fully equipped with an oven, hob, fridge-freezer, dishwasher, kettle and toaster. A handy utility room just off the kitchen houses a washing machine and a tumble dryer.
Both receptions rooms have new smart TVs, so as well as enjoying a wide array of Freeview channels, you can access internet-based services such as BBC iPlayer and YouTube. If you have a Netflix account you’ll be able to log in to watch your favourite shows.
Upstairs, the master bedroom is a double, and there is also a twin room and a single room, so this Meads holiday cottage can sleep up to five guests. The family bathroom has also been newly renovated and has a bath with shower over. The toilet upstairs is separate – so no need to wait if someone is having a soak – and there is another toilet on the ground floor, accessible from the garden.

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay in Eastbourne. Great location and brilliant cottage
The whole apartment is warm and convenient, with complete equipment and reasonable layout. You can go to the supermarket 100 meters away to buy food and cook. There is a cafe opposite the apartment. Latte is not bad. Walk to the beach for ten minutes. I lived with my family for half a month and it was great. Maybe next year. The landlord was warm and polite. He had a wonderful trip and was lucky to live in this beautiful house.
This is a wonderful place in the most AMAZING location. Carl and Sarah are fantastic communicators giving great information ahead of the stay and being immediately responsive should you need anything. We are planning to come back and stay many many more times.
Fabulous location near the sea Great little cottage perfectly positioned between the shops of Meads Village and the quiet end of the beach and Holywell cafe. We especially loved the garden where we could move the furniture around to get shade (it was during a 10-day heatwave) and the comfortable beds. The kitchen was well equipped - could do with some more cutlery and glasses but the agents said they would look to sort that out. Probably better suited to just 4 people if your children are bigger - or 5 if you have little ones. Be aware that being so close to the sea there are noisy seagulls overhead in the morning, and a strong smell of (delicious) cooking from the Pilot pub opposite! All in all a fabulous place to spend 2 weeks with my kids.
This property does not accept pets. Smoking is not permitted.
There is a week-long minimum stay and bookings run from Saturday to Saturday in peak season, although flexible arrival days may be possible out of season.
Costs include the weekly rent, a £30 booking fee and a returnable £200 security deposit. To book requires an immediate, non-refundable deposit of £200 per week booked (booking fee and a portion of the rent) and then the balance, including the security deposit, is due by no later than six weeks before your arrival. For stays of three weeks or more, you may be asked to pay a higher security deposit and/or booking deposit.
The checkout time is 10am on the day of departure – a fine may be applied if you do not leave on time. Please leave the property in good order – dispose of rubbish in external bins and wash up any pots/dishes or place in the dishwasher and switch on before you leave. If the accommodation is left in an unreasonable state, requiring deep cleaning, the cost for this will be deducted from your security deposit.
The security deposit will be returned to you within 1-2 weeks of your departure, minus any deduction for damage, loss or excessive cleaning required.
The property can only be used for the maximum number shown on the booking correspondence. It must not be used for improper, illegal or immoral purposes. Guests must not sub-let the property and must not change, add, move or remove any items of furniture, furnishings or structures inside or outside. Guests must not cause (nor allow any visitors to cause) any nuisance, annoyance or disturbance to neighbours, the property owner or the property owner’s agent.
