One bedroom, split level apartment in the heart of Eastbourne
The Devonshire apartment provides a romantic getaway as an elegant holiday flat on Chiswick Place, close to the Devonshire Park tennis, seafront, theatres and restaurants of Eastbourne and within easy reach of the South Downs.
The contemporary, open-plan living space is on the first floor of a grand Victorian villa,and includes a modern kitchen, fully equipped with dishwasher, washer-dryer, fridge-freezer, etc.
The lounge area has a flat-screen satellite TV with DVD, an iPod docking station and with WiFi provided, this self catering holiday apartment in Eastbourne is also perfect for longer lets and corporate stays as a serviced apartment.
Stairs from the lounge lead up to the second floor of the building, where the double bedroom and bathroom (with underfloor heating) are located.
There is a sofabed in the lounge for an occasional guest, but this really only suits families as any extra guests have to walk through the main bedroom to access the bathroom. If you wish to use this sofabed during your stay, please request when booking so we can ensure it is made up for your arrival – a supplement of £75 applies (no charge for under 14s).
Decor is tasteful throughout and bed linen, fluffy towels, bath robes, beach towels and a selection of welcome goodies are provided so a good choice for a romantic getaway.
We can point you towards some atmospheric restaurants very close by (such as a cracking place for tapas or authentic Italian both within a minute’s stroll), delightful walks along the coast or inland amongst villages such as East Dean and Friston and towards castles which look straight from a fairytale.
Given that this romantic getaway is less than 10 minutes walk from the station a car is far from essential, but we can provide parking permits for just £1 per day (and free on Sunday) which allow you park directly outside and across a wide part of town.

We stayed at the Devonshire apartment for one week and we were made so welcome by Angela (the owner who lived on site too). The apartment was very comfortable and everything was so clean and cosy . Also the extra treats which were left for us in the fridge by the owner was so welcoming. The best apartment we have stayed that is for sure. We felt so at home immediately and nothing was too much trouble for Angela. Might I also say that the agent Mrs Sarah Stanger was so helpful making the booking for us as she too was so wonderful to deal with and a credit to the company. We would definitely recommend the apartment to anybody In our lancashire dialect we would say it was bob on (meaning ideal)
This property does not accept pets. Smoking is not permitted.
There is a week-long minimum stay and bookings run from Saturday to Saturday in peak season, although flexible arrival days may be possible out of season.
Costs include the weekly rent, a £30 booking fee and a returnable £200 security deposit. To book requires an immediate, non-refundable deposit of £200 (booking fee and a portion of the rent) and then the balance, including the security deposit, is due by no later than six weeks before your arrival. For stays of three weeks or more, you may be asked to pay a higher security deposit and/or booking deposit.
Sofabed usage - please let us know on booking if you wish to use the sofabed, so we can ensure it is made up for your arrival. There is a £75 supplement (no extra charge if for under 14s).
The checkout time is 10am on the day of departure – a fine may be applied if you do not leave on time. Please leave the property in good order – dispose of rubbish in external bins and wash up any pots/dishes or place in the dishwasher and switch on before you leave. If the accommodation is left in an unreasonable state, requiring deep cleaning, the cost for this will be deducted from your security deposit.
The security deposit will be returned to you within 1-2 weeks of your departure, minus any deduction for damage, loss or excessive cleaning required.
The property can only be used for the maximum number shown on the booking correspondence. It must not be used for improper, illegal or immoral purposes. Guests must not sub-let the property and must not change, add, move or remove any items of furniture, furnishings or structures inside or outside. Guests must not cause (nor allow any visitors to cause) any nuisance, annoyance or disturbance to neighbours, the property owner or the property owner’s agent.
