This beautifully presented Eastbourne holiday cottage is ideally located in the upper Meads, by the foot of the South Downs, and close to Bedes, St Andrews and Moira House private schools.

Adjoining the owner’s main house at the popular Holywell end of the seafront, Holywell Hideaway offers complete privacy – with your own entrance and even a small, secluded patio garden complete with table and chairs for al fresco dining.

The holiday cottage has zip and link beds that can be set up as super kingsize or twins, so this adult-only property is suitable for couples or two friends.

The cosy open-plan living space is thoughtfully designed, full of little touches to make your stay comfortable and memorable.   The lounge area includes a comfy sofa in front of a flatscreen Smart TV – so you can access BBCiPlayer, Netfix or other internet-based services.  There’s also a Blu-Ray player and a selection of DVDs for your enjoyment.   And with a second smart TV in the bedroom, there’s no need to fight over what programme to watch.

The contemporary kitchen has a fridge with small freezer compartment, a dishwasher, a combination microwave oven and a two-ring hob, and the drop-leaf dining table simply folds away when not in use to maximise space.   A washer-dryer is housed in a utility cupboard.   The spotless new bathroom has a walk in shower and there is hot water on demand, plus electric heaters throughout if the weather turns chilly.

There is off-street parking and WiFi provided.   All towels and linen are included and you will find enough coffees, teas and hot chocolates for welcome drinks, plus a selection of breakfast goodies to get you started.

The Meads area is the most gentrified in Eastbourne and highly desirable both as a holiday and residential destination, with many period houses and a high street full of independent shops and cafes. The Meads area also serves as the gateway to the South Downs and the National Park as the hill towards Beachy Head is just a minute away from this Eastbourne holiday cottage.

I just wanted to say what a delightful place Holywell Hideaway is, small but perfect for two people who wanted a relaxing holiday with walking near by. The owners are lovely, they were helpful when needed but left us to our own devises otherwise. The attention to detail in the accommodation was brilliant it was like staying in a large hotel room. The weather wasn't too kind to us so we will have to return for another visit in warmer weather. Finally thank you to your company, your information pack and access arrangements is one of the best I have seen, your prompt feed back to my booking questions made the booking process very easy.

Elegant and excellent - Could not be happier with our choice for our stay near Eastbourne. This cottage is compact but feels spacious due to clever design and decorating. The kitchen is very functional, the shower room is great, the bed is wonderful. Everything is high quality and there are lots of little luxury touches; it is clear the owners really want their guests to enjoy their place. There are two good friendly pubs close by, the nearest is a very short walk and does excellent food. Convenient Tesco and other shops are in walking distance, South Downs pathway is at the end of the road one way, Eastbourne and the coast are the other way. Owners friendly and helpful without being obtrusive. I am worried that if I rate this place too highly it won't be available when I want to visit next time!!

There is a week-long minimum stay and bookings run from Saturday to Saturday in peak season, although flexible arrival days may be possible out of season.

Costs include the weekly rent, a £30 booking fee and a returnable £200 security deposit. To book requires an immediate, non-refundable deposit of £200 (booking fee and a portion of the rent) and then the balance, including the security deposit, is due by no later than six weeks before your arrival. For stays of three weeks or more, you may be asked to pay a higher security deposit and/or booking deposit.

The checkout time is 10am on the day of departure – a fine may be applied if you do not leave on time. Please leave the property in good order – dispose of rubbish in external bins and wash up any pots/dishes or place in the dishwasher and switch on before you leave. If the accommodation is left in an unreasonable state, requiring deep cleaning, the cost for this will be deducted from your security deposit.

The security deposit will be returned to you within 1-2 weeks of your departure, minus any deduction for damage, loss or excessive cleaning required.

The property can only be used for the maximum number shown on the booking correspondence. It must not be used for improper, illegal or immoral purposes. Guests must not sub-let the property and must not change, add, move or remove any items of furniture, furnishings or structures inside or outside. Guests must not cause (nor allow any visitors to cause) any nuisance, annoyance or disturbance to neighbours, the property owner or the property owner’s agent.
