Our Eastbourne cottages in the sought-after Meads village area of Eastbourne prove to be very popular holiday accommodation. Meads Haven is perfect for friends and family looking for a quiet escape close to the glorious South Downs.

The holiday cottage is close to genteel Meads village high street, with independent shops, cafes and some great pub restaurants. Central Eastbourne is also just 15 minute walk away, with theatres, art gallery and the newly refurbished Arndale centre of shops.

Moira House school is less than 10 minutes’ walk away, whilst St Andrews and Bedes schools are also close by.  Brighton University’s Denton Rd campus is only three minutes’ walk.

This Eastbourne holiday cottage has been completely refurbished,with a new kitchen, and new carpeting and furniture throughout.  Comfortable and spacious, it can sleep up to six people, with each in separate beds if preferred.

There is a large master bedroom with kingsize bed (capable of splitting into two single beds for extra flexibility), two built-in wardrobes offering good storage space, plus a dressing table with drawers.

The second bedroom has twin beds and again provides good built-in storage plus drawers (no need to be stingy when you are packing your suitcase!).   The third bedroom has quality bunk beds (with full-size single beds) so can accommodate both children or adults.

The spotless, modern bathroom has a bath with shower over for ease and flexibility.

On the ground floor is a spacious, open-plan lounge-diner across the whole width of the house.  The sociable dining table seats six and overlooks the private rear garden – with the patio doors open you can breakfast with birdsong drifting in!   The lounge has two sofas in front of the TV and DVD player, plus a chill-out seating area at the other end – ideal for reading, working or studying.

The separate kitchen is well equipped, with washer-dryer, dishwasher, double oven, microwave, fridge freezer, kettle and cafetiere.  Plus there are all the utensils you’d expect in high quality self catering accommodation.

The private rear garden captures the afternoon sun nicely and has a table and chairs to relax in. There is a small pond (around 30cm deep) so children must not be left unattended.  The well-maintained communal gardens at the front are for quiet enjoyment only, not for children to play.

Linen and regular towels are provided, with additional linen supplied for stays of more than a week. Free Wifi is provided as with all our Eastbourne holiday cottages.   There is parking available in the private garage, with other spaces available on the street nearby.

The house is situated in a very peaceful, residential enclave in Meads village which will appeal to respectful, understanding guests. Given the setting, no parties are allowed here.

Perfect stay in Eastbourne. We spent 15 days in this apartment. Quiet, clean and with a great service is just what we needed. Location for us was perfect though it can take you 25 minutes walk to the pier. Not far there are a couple of supermarkets that cater for almost any need. I would certainly come back should I need it.

There is a week-long minimum stay and bookings run from Sunday to Sunday in peak season, although flexible arrival days may be possible out of season.

Costs include the weekly rent, a £30 booking fee and a returnable £200 security deposit. To book requires an immediate, non-refundable deposit of £200 (booking fee and a portion of the rent) and then the balance, including the security deposit, is due by no later than six weeks before your arrival. For stays of three weeks or more, you may be asked to pay a higher security deposit and/or booking deposit.

The checkout time is 10am on the day of departure – a fine may be applied if you do not leave on time. Please leave the property in good order – dispose of rubbish in external bins and wash up any pots/dishes or place in the dishwasher and switch on before you leave. If the accommodation is left in an unreasonable state, requiring deep cleaning, the cost for this will be deducted from your security deposit.

The security deposit will be returned to you within 1-2 weeks of your departure, minus any deduction for damage, loss or excessive cleaning required.

The property can only be used for the maximum number shown on the booking correspondence. It must not be used for improper, illegal or immoral purposes. Guests must not sub-let the property and must not change, add, move or remove any items of furniture, furnishings or structures inside or outside. Guests must not cause (nor allow any visitors to cause) any nuisance, annoyance or disturbance to neighbours, the property owner or the property owner’s agent.
