An elegant period building in a prime Eastbourne location has been lovingly converted to provide stylish and contemporary holiday accommodation.  Bicknell House has two holiday apartments – this one on the first floor of the building, and a sister apartment on the raised ground floor.

Located on Hyde Gardens, Bicknell House is one of the great places to stay in Central Eastbourne for visiting the nearby theatres and Towner Art Gallery, shopping in the independent boutiques of Little Chelsea, walking on the South Downs.

Contemporary holiday flats in Eastbourne – first floor in Bicknell House

This first floor holiday apartment has two bedrooms – one with a kingsize bed and one with twin beds. The spotless new bathroom has a bath with a shower over to freshen up after a busy day exploring.

The living space is open-plan and contemporary, featuring a comfortable seating area with TV, dining table and chairs, plus a kitchen.  The modern kitchen is well equipped for a self catering stay, with fridge (including small freezer compartment), oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher and a washer-dryer. Although you only have to step out of the apartment and you’ve a wealth of eateries on your doorstep.

All linen and towels are provided in this holiday apartment, extra linen supplied for stays or more than a week in our holiday apartments Eastbourne. Free WiFi is also available.

The train station is just a hop, skip and jump away (three minutes walk), with direct trains to London and Brighton, plus there are buses around the corner if you fancy heading up to Beachy Head and the South Downs National Park for clifftop walks.

You can also visit the picturesque villages of Alfriston, East Dean and Friston. Furthermore, if you are driving, parking permits are available for just £2 per day.

In the busy periods the holiday apartment is available for week long bookings, with changeovers from Friday to Friday. However, short stays and flexible arrival days may also be possible last minute and out of season.

Central Eastbourne ideal for restaurants, shops, tennis centre. The 1st Floor apartment at Bicknell House is located in Central Eastbourne with easy access to restaurants, shops, theatres and the tennis centre. The beach, bandstand and pier are only a few minutes walk. The 1812 Overture Music Night every Wednesday evening at the Bandstand is brilliant. Parking permits current cost £1 per day provide access to Hyde Gardens parking spaces and nearby streets. The Tourist Information office is a few yards away and offers many useful free booklets covering events and attractions in the area. The weather was superb, we had a wonderful holiday!

Lovely flat, ideal and ideally situated for us. This is a lovely flat. Everything works (except the bathroom door lock). We appreciated the neutral décor. The flat and the furniture are comfortable and clean, without exception, and very well equipped. The location suited us perfectly, right in the town centre, but undisturbed by traffic.

There is a week-long minimum stay in peak season and bookings run from Friday-to-Friday, although flexible arrival days and short stays may be possible out of season.

Costs include the weekly rent, a £30 booking fee and a returnable £200 security deposit. To book requires an immediate, non-refundable deposit of £200 (booking fee and a portion of the rent) and then the balance, including the security deposit, is due by no later than six weeks before your arrival. For stays of three weeks or more, you may be asked to pay a higher security deposit and/or booking deposit.

The checkout time is 10am on the day of departure – a fine may be applied if you do not leave on time. Please leave the property in good order – dispose of rubbish in external bins and wash up any pots/dishes or place in the dishwasher and switch on before you leave. If the accommodation is left in an unreasonable state, requiring deep cleaning, the cost for this will be deducted from your security deposit.

The security deposit will be returned to you within 1-2 weeks of your departure, minus any deduction for damage, loss or excessive cleaning required.

The property can only be used for the maximum number shown on the booking correspondence. It must not be used for improper, illegal or immoral purposes. Guests must not sub-let the property and must not change, add, move or remove any items of furniture, furnishings or structures inside or outside. Guests must not cause (nor allow any visitors to cause) any nuisance, annoyance or disturbance to neighbours, the property owner or the property owner’s agent.
