An elegant period building in a prime Eastbourne location has been lovingly converted to provide stylish and contemporary holiday accommodation.

Located on Hyde Gardens in central Eastbourne, Bicknell House offer the ideal base for visiting the nearby theatres and Towner Art Gallery, shopping in the independent boutiques of Little Chelsea, or walking on the South Downs.

Contemporary holiday apartment in Bicknell House – first floor

There are two holiday apartments within Bicknell House – one on the raised ground floor, and one on the first floor (so some stairs are involved).

The first floor holiday apartment has two bedrooms – one with a kingsize bed and one with twin beds – sleeping up to four people in sumptuous style. The spotless new bathroom has a bath with a shower over to freshen up after a busy day exploring.

The living space is open-plan and contemporary, featuring a comfortable seating area with TV, dining table and chairs, plus a kitchen.  The immaculate new kitchen is well equipped for a self catering stay, with fridge (including small freezer compartment), oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher and a washer-dryer.  Although you only have to step out of the apartment and you’ve a wealth of eateries on your doorstep.

Naturally all linen and towels are provided in this holiday apartment, with additional linen supplied for stays or more than a week. Free WiFi is available.

The train station is just a hop, skip and jump away (three minutes walk), with direct trains to London and Brighton, plus there are buses around the corner if you fancy heading up to Beachy Head and the South Downs National Park for clifftop walks, or to the picturesque villages of Alfriston, East Dean and Friston.  If you are driving, parking permits are available for just £1 per day.

This first floor apartment is available for week long bookings in the busy periods although we can be more flexible in the off peak season and short stays may be possible last minute.

Located in the heart of Eastbourne on Hyde Gardens this spacious and modern 2 bedroom apartment is a great place to base yourself on a coastal visit. It is a newly finished apartment with contemporary features throughout, the kitchen is fully equipped and all linen and towels are provided. This property does not accept pets. Smoking is not permitted.

There is a week-long minimum stay in peak season, although flexible arrival days may be possible out of season.

Costs include the weekly rent, a £30 booking fee and a returnable £200 security deposit. To book requires an immediate, non-refundable deposit of £200 (booking fee and a portion of the rent) and then the balance, including the security deposit, is due by no later than six weeks before your arrival. For stays of three weeks or more, you may be asked to pay a higher security deposit and/or booking deposit.

The checkout time is 10am on the day of departure – a fine may be applied if you do not leave on time. Please leave the property in good order – dispose of rubbish in external bins and wash up any pots/dishes or place in the dishwasher and switch on before you leave. If the accommodation is left in an unreasonable state, requiring deep cleaning, the cost for this will be deducted from your security deposit.

The security deposit will be returned to you within 1-2 weeks of your departure, minus any deduction for damage, loss or excessive cleaning required.

The property can only be used for the maximum number shown on the booking correspondence. It must not be used for improper, illegal or immoral purposes. Guests must not sub-let the property and must not change, add, move or remove any items of furniture, furnishings or structures inside or outside. Guests must not cause (nor allow any visitors to cause) any nuisance, annoyance or disturbance to neighbours, the property owner or the property owner’s agent.
